Fear and Loathing on Parliament Hill

This trailer is based on a script for a short feature written by my grandson Alec Emery and his friend Karel Cespiva, both of whom are 16 years old. Their friends, Ana-Maria Jerca and Jovanny Venegas also 16 years old co-star with them in the production. A failed attempt to get a permit to film in and around the chosen government building mirrored the script all too closely!

Temperature Anomalies

This animation compares the global and regional trends in temperature anomalies as the global temperature increases overall. The equatorial and global temperature increases are roughly comparable but the southern hemisphere increases far more slowly than the northern hemisphere. This is because the southern hemisphere is mostly ocean which warms far more slowly than the land which predominates in the north.

The starting temperature is compared to the pre-industrial period before large emissions of greenhouse gases had begun.
